Overview

The Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE is part of the Queensland Government’s innovative world recognised educational network. SQIT is headquartered in Toowoomba, one of Australia’s largest regional centres, and occupies nine campuses throughout the region.

Location

SQIT main campus is in Toowoomba about and hour and a half from Brisbane and close to the world renowned Surfers Paradise and the Sunshine Coast regions. The city is modern and multicultural beautifully laid out with parks and gardens and tree lined streets. It is a diverse and liveable city known as a good location for international students and education in Queensland and Australia.

There is rich variety of social, recreational and cultural facilities and resources available to locals and travellers alike and transport to Brisbane and around the region is easy and accessible.

Campus

The Toowoomba campus is close to the CBD and provides excellent library and computer facilities, food and beverage outlets, sporting resources and modern teaching and learning facilities. Accommodation is available at the Student Village, the Residential Colleges and in the local community.

Courses

Courses on offer to international students include Automative, Information technology, Hair and Beauty, Hospitality and the Union Institute of Languages. AA Education Network can give you all the information you need to choose your course of study at SQIT.

Enrolment

You will need an IELTS of 5.5 overall with no band less than 5.0 to enrol. Students are advised to apply well in advance of the commencement of their course to allow time for processing applications. AA Education Network will advise you on the best time to apply.

Student activities

The Student Association organises barbecues, youth week, an annual awards night and various social events throughout the year. Students are free to organise their own informal and spontaneous activities among themselves.
